Pilar Vázquez (IEEE senior member) has more than 20 years of experience in areas related to energy management in wholesale energy markets. Her responsibilities have included calculating bids and offers in the whole range of short-term power markets at the Spanish system, making annual sales planning and margin monitoring and defining optimal selling strategies. She has also led the design, development and implementation of a surveillance system to reduce regulatory risk by effectively supervising and monitoring activity in wholesale energy markets.

Pilar is member of the management team of Global Energy Management at Iberdrola as the head of the Digitalization and Processes, from where she actively participates in defining the strategic vision of the organization, leading digital transformation projects and relying on technology and innovation as pillars to extract all the value that digitalization offers to the activity.
